Reflecting Not Dwelling

You learn from the past to prepare for the future.

One must be careful when rehashing the past, mistakes and screw ups. There is fine line between dwelling and reflecting. Dwelling is defining ourselves by the mistakes of the past, while reflecting is learning and growing from them in the form of lessons.

Far too often we allow ourselves to dwell and define ourselves by actions of the past. This creates an endless vicious cycle that holds us down.

Reflecting on the hand, is a powerful tool. Using the lessons of the past to bypass all future obstacles. Sure more mistakes will occur, but as you sharpen your reflection tool you’ll be able to apply this ability to overcome the future mistakes more efficiently.

Reflecting provides the ability to live in the future at its fullest.
