A coffee shop opened up a block from Starbucks in Newtown.
I loved it from the beginning. I always picture myself being the owner and starting out, so I felt need to stop in as much as I could.
Biz was slow… ( so it seemed at least )
But…
One day I walked in and literally couldn’t find a seat. Not one!
Turns out Starbucks closed, for an entire month, for renovations.
Traffic continued to pour in and they gained traction.
As the Starbucks re-opened I’m sure the explosion leveled off but I am also sure they gained some loyal customers they did not have before.
So seemingly, opening up a coffee shop across from Starbucks may be bad but…
Maybe being second best isn’t that bad.
What else could this apply to?
